Registration:

Credit Status

Students must specify a credit status for every course on their registration forms. Not every credit status is available in every course; available credit options are listed with tuitions in the course descriptions. Students who do not designate a credit status or who select an option that is not available will be assigned and charged tuition for an option that is available and that corresponds to their tuition payment for the course.

Students must register for undergraduate or graduate credit in any courses for which they want to receive grades and academic credit, regardless of whether or not they are pursuing Extension School degrees, certificates, or diplomas. Candidates for Extension School degrees, certificates, and diplomas should consult the Programs section for information on which courses and which types of credit will count toward their programs.

Noncredit students may submit written work for evaluation only at their instructor's discretion. Noncredit students are not assigned final grades and are not allowed to take final examinations or submit final projects or papers. Students who wish to audit a course must register for noncredit and pay the noncredit tuition; they may do this only in courses that are available for noncredit.
